Henry's First Bath

Here is Henry, 3 weeks old getting his first bath. We had to wait for the weekend when Daddy was home. We only use this bath for the first one. The rest are done quickly in the big tub while other kids are bathing.

The First Week

Well, we survived our first week. Tom was home until Wednesday and then my mom came to stay with us. Everyone is adjusting well. We had our newborn photo shoot during the week and these are some of the photos.

Almost one day old

Here are some more pictures and a video of Henry. Things are going well. His blood sugar started off low so they are frequently monitoring it. He will be circumcised today so I spent a lot of time nursing him last night because he will probably do a lot of sleeping after the procedure. So far he has been a great baby. He likes to sleep and he appears to be nursing well. I am really thankful that he came when he did, allowing Daddy to be there. I'll share more about his birth story later today with some more pictures.

The Kids with Henry

The kids were very surprised to wake up and find Grandma and Papa at the house. They were already in bed when things started to happen. Here are pictures of their first encounter with Henry. And then some video of them as well. They all think he is great.

House Redecorating

We have been doing some redecorating around the house. With the baby coming in November Charlotte will be moving into Amelia's room. We found matching sleigh beds on Craigslist for a good price. I would like to repaint them and change a trim piece but in the mean time they are sturdy. You can also see Mia's new dresser (another garage sale find) in her closet. The girls also got matching bedding. Although currently Joe sleeps there at night and Charlotte just during the day until we buy another mattress.

My brother was very generous and gave us his TV. It wouldn't fit into our old entertainment center so we bought a simpler one and rearranged the living room. We also got a bookcase that allows for Joe's fish tank.

The Castle Birthday Cake

Here is Mia's awesome castle cake made and
decorated by none other than my mother!!
Isn't it adorable! If you want to see it closer just click on the picture.

Amelia's 6th Birthday

Amelia celebrated her 6th birthday this week. She completed her American Girl mini historical dolls. She also receive the historical books from her Arizona grandparents. Because she received so many little gift she received presents all throughout the day. For dinner we went to Famous Dave's and we sang Happy Birthday to a cookie-brownie.

The next day we had her birthday party. I wish I had taken more pictures but being pregnant with twelve girls in the house made that difficult. We made princess crowns and bottle cap necklaces. We had lunch and cake and then a pinata.

Here are some of the presents she received.
Here are all her mini dolls in her old suitcase
(my great $3 garage sale find.)
Her Illinois Grandma and Papa gave her this pioneer outfit for her doll.
The Dausman girls gave her a ballerina outfit and puppy dog.
The Brown girls gave her this great cookie set (Charlotte loves it, too.)
She also received a Barbie doll and clothes, candy, a book, headbands,
Strawberry Shortcake doll, Cinderell and gift cards. What a spoiled girl!!
